Language Trainer is a Chrome browser extension for learning foreign vocabulary through spaced repetition. This privacy policy explains what data the extension collects, how it is stored, and how it is used.

Data Collection

Language Trainer does NOT collect, transmit, or share any personal data.

The extension stores the following data locally on your device:

Your word list (words and their translations)
Word learning progress (Leitner box levels, repetition counts, timestamps)
Extension settings (card display interval, pause state, UI language preference)

Data Storage

All data is stored exclusively in Chrome's local storage (chrome.storage.local) on your device. No data is ever sent to any remote server, cloud service, or third party.

Data Sharing

Language Trainer does NOT share any data with third parties. The extension:

Does not use analytics or tracking services
Does not collect usage statistics
Does not use cookies
Does not make any network requests
Does not require user registration or accounts

Permissions Explained

Permission	Why it's needed
`storage`	Save your word list and learning progress locally
`alarms`	Schedule periodic flashcard display at your chosen interval
`contextMenus`	Enable the "Add to Language Trainer" right-click menu
`activeTab`	Display flashcard overlays on the current webpage
`tabs`	Identify the active tab for card display
`scripting`	Inject the flashcard overlay script into web pages
`host_permissions`	Display flashcards on any website you visit

None of these permissions are used to collect, read, or transmit your browsing data or personal information.

Data Export and Deletion

Export your entire word list as a JSON file from the Options page
Delete individual words or your entire word list from the Options page
Uninstalling the extension removes all stored data from your device

Children's Privacy

Language Trainer does not knowingly collect information from children under 13. The extension does not collect any personal information from any user.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date above.
